Based on the State of Remote Work 2019 report by Buffer, these are the top struggles faced by remote workers.
Almost a quarter find it hard to maintain work-life balance. One-fifth face loneliness. And one in six have issues with interaction.
Such remote work isolation can become a serious mental health concern. The American Psychological Association warns of “adverse health consequences including depression, poor sleep quality, impaired executive function, accelerated cognitive decline”, all of which impacts work performance.
